Watch Out for Adam Lambert !

Simon called Adam's performance on a completely different level than all the other performances tonight. Lambert's performance might be the best out of the entire Season 8—yes, this is only the first week. His vocals were spot-on, his use of lighting and effects were perfect. Lambert will be around for a very long time in this competition.

The 26-year-old theater actor from Los Angeles seamlessly impressed the panel — and eclipsed his 12 co-finalists — with an energized rendition of the tune "Black or White" during Tuesday's Michael Jackson-themed performance show.

"You've got the whole package going on," Paula Abdul exclaimed following Lambert's performance.

American idol Top 12 becomes Top 13!

The final 3 performers in season 8’s American idol Top 12 were revealed.

After informing Matt Giruad that he had been given the 12th spot in the Top 12, to the shock of many, the judges rescued a dejected Anoop Desai with the news that there would be a Top 13 instead.

The American Idol 2009 Top 13 singers will enter the Thunderdome where only one will eventually emerge as 2009's American Idol in May this year. The following are the official Top l13 idol hopeful:
